AI has become a fundamental component of digital marketing over the past couple of years. Are you using it to its full potential?

Check out a few recent blog posts featuring my thoughts on the future of AI in marketing, Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), and how businesses can misuse AI to their detriment.

Video creation

Tools such as HeyGen are making the quick and efficient creation of video content. This short video, featuring myself, was made entirely using AI tools, including the generation of a script and transforming that script into audio, before syncing it with an animated avatar.

Midjourney process

After creating an image in Midjourney, I animated two versions (low motion and high motion), chose the video that portrayed the best range of movements, extended that one and then, again, chose the best version.

Downloading that video into OpenShot, I added sound effects (waves crashing against rocks) and music, both from YouTube’s music library, as well as quick fades in and out, before uploading it to YouTube.

Prompt: A photorealistic man and woman who have arrived at a remote and slightly windswept beach in their battered campervan after several days of travel. 1970s vibe. Grainy film stock. Reminscient of a shot from a cult 1970s movie. Woman is pretty and blond with slight freckles and carries a Leica film camera around her neck. Man is a little nerdy looking with moustache and glasses. Both have bohemian air about them. Both are caught in beautiful golden hour light.

Blog creation

Writing and researching written content can be a laborious task, but it is one where AI is proving invaluable in time-saving. A well-considered ChapGPT prompt generated a first draft of each of these three articles, allowing me to work closely with senior leadership to craft it further towards a finished product. This included ensuring the content reflected the respective Managing Director’s ‘voice’, adding industry-specific details, inserting real-world examples, and more.

Image generation

Still images are still crucially important in your brand’s social media and website content. Copyrighted images can lead to legal issues, stock images are often overused, original photography is very expensive. This is where A.I. come into its own. The quick and easy creation of original ‘photographic’ content provides a near-inexhaustible supply of content—when used sparingly and as part of an overall content strategy.
